On Wednesday, Jalopnik posted instructions on how to hack electronic traffic signs. This morning, Today reported that Texas officials are scrambling to protect such signs, after someone hacked in to warn drivers about zombies.

A colony of homeless men live in the warehouse. Wednesday morning a few fires were burning inside oil drums. Scott Ruben, 38, huddled under filthy blankets not 20 paces from the elevator shaft.
“Yeah, I seen him,” Ruben said. The snow outside howled. The heat from the can warped the landscape of rotting buildings and razor wire.

Local library builds collection of local music. →
The Ferndale Public Library is developing a unique local music collection for its patrons to check out. Beginning in June 2008 the Library began purchasing music by local artists to include in their 1300+ item collection. Kelly Bennett, one of the Library’s Circulation Specialists, began contacting local record labels and placing orders.
